Day 1 ARRIVE PANAMÁ
On arrival to Tocumen International Airport in Panamá City, you will be greeted by a representative of Panamá Boutique™ and transferred to the heart of Panamá's Soberania National Park. Birds such as the Blue Cotingas and Green Shrike-vireos that are normally glimpsed in the treetops can be viewed at eye level!

Day 2 BARRO COLORADO ISLAND TOUR

Early in the morning depart to the Smithsonian’s Barro Colorado Island /Barro Colorado Natural Monument (BCNM). Administered by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI), this island is a biological reserve as well as the best-studied rainforest in America.
The BCNM has been protected since 1923, longer than any other protected jungle in the world. This is the home of many birds such as the Red-billed Toucan, Green and Rufous Kingfisher and Golden-colored Manakin. A box lunch is included in the field.

Day 3 LA POSADA CERRO LA VIEJA

After breakfast, your bilingual tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby. Your next adventure begins with a
drive on the Pan-American Highway to the forest of
Chiguiri Arriba in Cocle. Once settled in at the Posada del Cerro la Vieja, you are free to choose from a wide array of activities. Optional activities include hiking, trekking on different ecological trails, horseback riding, and an exploration of the area and its mysterious stone petroglyphs writing by the falls. Discover a rejuvenating mud bath and enjoy excellent Panamánian cuisine in this remarkable setting on the slope of the extinct volcano, "La Vieja”.

Consider taking an optional morning tour at dawn, when animals are most active. Pure Adventure! The rest of the day you can hike La Vieja Hill, enjoy the lodge’s private trails or just relax in a hammock while overlooking the beautiful mountains of Cocle.

Day 5 LA POSADA CERRO LA VIEJA
Time to pamper yourself! Spend the morning enjoyig a soothing massage with the mountains and lush vegetation as your backdrop. Or, get a facial with tropical herbs and mud bath that will stimulate your skin leaving it smoooth and rejuvenated. In the afternoon, go on a horseback ride adventure to the Tavida Falls where you will encounter birds, monkeys and beautiful vegetation. Experience the spectacular view of the falls and swim in a natural pool. Very romantic!!

Day 6 PANAMÁ CITY
Enjoy a morning walk through the trails around La Posada. After breakfast, you will be driven to Panamá City. Once you are settled into your hotel, the remainder of the day is unscheduled.

Day 7 EMBERÁ INDIGENOUS ENCOUNTER
Your adventure begins with a ride in a "piragua" (a native boat) following the route on the Chagres River commonly used by the Indians for their daily transport along the river. A local Emberá guide will lead you on a hike through the forest. He is expert in explaining the botanical aspects of the trail and the culture of the Chocoe - Emberá village. In the village members of the tribe will share their culture with you through dances, rituals and food. You will even have the opportunity to partake in “jagua” body painting with vegetable ink! Arrival back to the modern world, cosmopolitan Panamá City, in the late afternoon. Optional dinner and folkloric dance show at the Tinajas Restaurant is available upon request.

After breakfast you will be transferred to the international airport approximately two hours in advance to your departure time.
